Mike DeBardeleben was an American serial rapist and suspected serial killer who operated in the 1970s and 1980s. He was active in several states, including Alabama, Florida, and Virginia, where he committed a series of sexual assaults and murders.
DeBardeleben was known for his use of disguises and his ability to charm and manipulate his victims. He would often pose as a police officer or other authority figure to gain the trust of his victims before attacking them.
In 1983, DeBardeleben was arrested in connection with a counterfeiting operation and was later convicted of multiple counts of counterfeiting and related crimes. While in prison, he became a suspect in several unsolved rape and murder cases, but was never officially charged with any additional crimes.
DeBardeleben died in prison in 2011 at the age of 74. Despite his death, he remains a notorious figure in the annals of American crime history, known for his violent and predatory behavior towards women.
